CBDCs and Stablecoins : Insights from BOK, Circle, and Paxos

The webinar proceeded systematically through three primary presentations: first, "BOK's CBDC Pilot Test for Building a Future Monetary System" by the Bank of Korea; second, "Policy Frameworks for a Trusted Stablecoin" by Circle; and third, "Crypto Eurodollars" by Columbia Business School. Following the presentations, a dynamic Q&A session facilitated an active exchange of perspectives, dialogue, and inquiry between the distinguished speakers and the audience. On November 3, Hashed Open Research held a webinar on the future of stablecoins and CBDCs, together with financial figures from Korea and abroad including Bank of Korea Electronic Finance Department Director Yun Sung-guan, Circle Vice President Yam Ki Chan, and Columbia Business School Professor Austin Campbell. An audience of approximately 40 practitioners from domestic banks and securities firms specializing in blockchain and related financial operations participated in the proceedings. Through this report, we share the presentations delivered and the key points of discussion from the event.
